Hi,

I am writing some articles for Museum Practice on Digital Fundraising and am looking for interesting case studies, opinions, stats etc from UK or international museums.

There's been a lot of talk in the UK about the need for better digital fundraising by museums, but this is still a growing area and not all museums all fully utilising the power of the web to attract funds.

My email address is - rebecca.atkinson@museumsassociation.org

And I look forward to hearing from you!

Best wishes

Hi Rebecca,

The fundraising story that's in the news right now is the Louvre campaign to raise funds for the last million needed to complete the acquisition of Lucas Cranach the Elder's Three Graces. The New York Times story reported an average donation of about 150 Euros, with a range from 1-40,000 Euros. the Louvre reports about 5,000 people gave.

The Louvre's director, Henri Loyrette's reaction: "We didn't think that it would be that fast."
