Innovation and Museums

Hello all,

I've been lurking on the archimuse site for several months now.

I'm currently working on my MBA, part-time.

Although I do not work in the industry, I am keenly interested in innovation in the museum and cultural spaces sector, and plan to do my dissertation in this area.

I was curious to hear from the community about the topic of innovation in relation to museums and cultural spaces.

What are some examples of innovations in this sector? (use of augmented reality for exhibits, or location based services, for example)?

What are the constraints, if any, to being innovative in this sector?

Are innovations generally achieved by internal stakeholders, third party (external) partners, or a combination of both internal and external parties?

Thoughts and comments are appreciated.

Many thanks,
Pete
