Orientation of students at the University of Surabaya has begun since 1968. At that time orientation is still called by the name MAPRAM. This orientation is usually held for one week and is a sweet memory for new students. These activities aim to change the mentality of students to be better. in 1971 MAPRAM closed and at the University of surabaya activities are often changed its name from POSMA, OSPEK, PSUMB and the last to be  (MOB) at now. new format destination MOB activity is to provide guidance to students emancipatory approach to communication and eliminate the activities of coercion and physical or psychological violence.
