MW2010 Webinars or the like?

Hi there, I just learned about the upcoming MW2010 conference and unfortunately do no think I will be able to attend. Can anyone let me know if there are plans to post video/podcast/live-blog/etc., documentation of lectures or workshops online as the conference unfolds?

If this is not something that will be happening, I would like to suggest to the organizers that this is something to consider for future years. I would be willing to pay a special web-access registration fee.

Thanks.

hi Matt,

all the papers to be presented at MW2010 will be online before the conference, and presentations posted afterwards [check out the Museums and the Web slideshare group for prior years']. You can also search past papers from 1997 in the online bibliography.

there's always a lively back-channel during the meeting [on twitter with #mw2010, and on this site], a great flickr group, and some people doing live [or almost-live] blogging. all the places we are on the social web are listed on the MW2010 online page of the conference site.

we've done little video, because we've not had the human resources on-site. But the MW2009 keynote was captured on video by the team from the IMA -- and it set a high bar for future events.

i'd love to hear from people about their experiences using lo-fi streaming video, and their thoughts about investing the time to watch it. personally i'd rather read the paper than spend the time with a video stream, but i am wiling to accept that that might just be my own bias.

Thank you very much for this information, Jennifer. I will definitely be following the conference from afar as best I can.

it's a great question. what other kinds of things would help make MW2010 work from afar?
