Job: Web Developer: Smithsonian Institution Archives

The employee is responsible for technical development, coordination, administration, management, and maintenance of various internet and intranet web-based technologies and applications.

• Handles the technical development, coordination, administration, management and maintenance of various internet and intranet web-based technologies and applications.
• Manages database development, design, data integration, and system maintenance.
• Engages in the development of new and maintenance of existing web projects and applications using established tools including MS SQL, and ColdFusion, XHTML, XML, and XSLT, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, and ASP.net.
• Provides implementation support for web applications and services such as websight search engines, security testing, usability testing, search engine optimization, and integration of emerging web applications and technologies.  
• Maintains cross-platform and cross-browser compatibility to ensure content is accessible from a variety of different environments, adhering to Smithsonian IT and other W3C standards.
• Works on a variety of operating systems and environments performing technical evaluations and product review and analysis of software tools for use in web application development.
