Job Description
The Cleveland Museum of Art's Information Technology Department seeks a Web Developer with experience building and implementing compelling, feature-rich interactive websites. The Web Developer is the Museum’s specialist in applying web-based technology to disseminate information about museum collections, exhibitions, educational and entertainment programming, and opportunities to support the museum. S/h works with Director of Information Management and Technology Services to achieve specific web-technology-related goals in the museum’s overall technology plan. S/he administers the Museum’s public website and its parallel development/test environment. Associated duties include, but are not limited to: content posting, website-related installations and upgrades for the content management system (SiteCore), online calendar, and modules for use analysis, and integrated online marketing; custom code development, integration, and testing; design implementation; migrating data from various in-house systems to provide web content, and automating those processes; ongoing space management; website optimization and SEO; and disaster recovery. S/he coordinates with Director and other IT staff and/or contractors to maintain necessary server hardware and operating systems for the web server and associated application servers, to maximize website availability for public use. Plan and manage the roll out of new website functionalities, including usability testing and user acceptance case studies. Suggests appropriate developments and additions to improve the functionality. Please note that this is not a “Web (Graphic) Design” position.
