Hi Vicent,

I absolutely agree with your blog and this is another reason why we encourage in-house devises for most institutions. And yes, app gap still needs filling, we realize this, our solution is to supply the best technology & user friendly devise neccesary for each unique institution.   In this case for the MW2011 we decided to develope the iPhone app becasue we work closely with Apple and most of our in-house devises are made by Apple.   As well as winning the iPad2.  I hope this helps to understand why we decided to create the apple app for the MW2011.

Cross Platform

We believe that the content for the visitor experience is most important and is reached best with the In-House iPod devises.   We use cross platform development, but still discover that the user patterns in downloading App's on Apple devises vs. Droid are incomparable.  Droid users simply are not downloading the app's as frequently as the Apple users are.  It is also depends on the museum needs such as; the exhibition, the environment and the budget available.   

In this case for the MW2011- we wanted to promote our NOUS Guide system- based off our Apple devise, show its functionality and for winning the Apple iPad2.  In the Museum field NOUS Guide does create cross platform applications. (On In-house devises or as public apps.)  So for clients we are willing to offer the best solution possible for their individual needs.

I think as museums we need to be developing cross platform... The Droid overtook Apple in market share last year.  That may change with Verizon handling the iPhone now, but it's definitely worth thinking about.

Well this means you should really try and win the iPad2 straight away!  :)

 You can use a friend's, co-worker, a stranger off the street, anyone who owns an iPhone, to download and play the game, at the end you will fill out your information. Goodluck!!!
