It has not been an easy choice, but we are super-excited about the themes that are emerging: on mobile and strategy, on publishing "after Gutenberg", on metrics and audience motivations, on "megadata" and new ways of thinking about search, and on creative ways to "Fail Forward" by sharing and learning from our mistakes - just to name a few! There will of course also be web and mobile crit rooms, usability labs, workshops, the Best of the Web awards, and lots of great food to enjoy along with your favorite museum people in sunny southern California!

The next call for demonstration proposals closes Dec 31, so there's still a great way to participate in the MW2012 program by showing off your project and work.

Exhibitors can also propose Exhibitor Briefings: demonstrations of recent projects for their commercial products and services.

Please submit your presentation ideas online: http://www.museumsandtheweb.com/node/add/program

See you in San Diego!
Mon, 05 Dec 2011 01:38:56 +0000 NancyProctor comment 4777 at http://www.museumsandtheweb.com Attending MW2012 but not presenting http://www.museumsandtheweb.com/forum/museums_and_the_web_2012_mw2012_call_for_participati_0#comment-4765
Hi Carmen,
That's great that you're planning to attend MW2012 this year! It's probably best to attend at least once before presenting, so your plan of getting a feel for the event and community, and completing your research first is a good one. It will make your proposal in 2013 much stronger, and no doubt your presenting skills as well!

We look forward to meeting you in San Diego! Here is some more information on the MW2012 meeting:

http://conference.archimuse.com/forum/mw2012_when_where_how

And the conference website is here: https://conference.archimuse.com/mw2012

Nancy Proctor
Co-chair, MW2012
Tue, 20 Sep 2011 03:12:28 +0000 museweb comment 4765 at http://www.museumsandtheweb.com Attending http://www.museumsandtheweb.com/forum/museums_and_the_web_2012_mw2012_call_for_participati_0#comment-4764
I am interested in attending the conference, but I am not ready to present a paper yet. Is it possible to go in that way? I would like to present it for the next conference (2013), when I would have finished my PhD and I would have reached more interesting conclusions to share.

Thanks,

Carmen
Mon, 19 Sep 2011 06:53:21 +0000 mamentejera comment 4764 at http://www.museumsandtheweb.com
