For us, we've determined it's best to treat content as individual assets and create a schedule for when and where each appear on our various channels (web, social, blog, email, online member community, etc.). Basically we're working on a spreadsheet that lists the content asset, the channel, and the timeframe for when it will appear. This is for the top-level content. We're hoping this will help us get the most mileage out of content we produce. We launched a new Drupal site in February, so overall our more "fixed" web content is all relatively new, but longer term we will conduct content audits (probably twice a year) with the content stakeholders to make sure everything is relevant and fresh.

Angie McNew
Director of Websites and Emerging Media
The Children's Museum of Indianapolis
http://www.childrensmuseum.org
Fri, 24 Jun 2011 14:44:10 +0000 angelam comment 4438 at http://www.museumsandtheweb.com
