Wynkoop Brewery, Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery, Falling Rock Taphouse, My Brothers Bar, and Celtic Tavern. I haven't tracked down their locations yet though...
Wed, 14 Apr 2010 18:29:58 +0000 lisarex comment 2922 at http://www.museumsandtheweb.com Time to compare Denver to San Diego http://www.museumsandtheweb.com/forum/beer_hunt_2010#comment-2878
I like this idea. I need to compare the local brews of Denver to those of San Diego. I have a bit of a bias towards the latter. I feel this would be a great event/touring for Thursday night.
Fri, 09 Apr 2010 18:07:30 +0000 bernasconi comment 2878 at http://www.museumsandtheweb.com Colorado beers http://www.museumsandtheweb.com/forum/beer_hunt_2010#comment-2823
Hi everyone,

I'm new to the group this year, and I look forward to meeting some of you. Relevant to the beer conversation, I lived for many years in Colorado, and so I do know some of the hotspots. One of the oldest and best brewpubs, right downtown will be Wynkoop Brewing (http://www.wynkoop.com/). their Railyard Ale is an easy drinker for sure. Another Colorado favorite (from my college town of Ft. Collins) is New Belgium Brewery (http://www.newbelgium.com). They make several varieties of Belgian style ales. They should be on tap practically everywhere. Another to look out for is Odells (http://www.odells.com/), their 90 shilling ale is awesome, its sort of a lighter Scottish ale. they should also be on tap in many pubs. I think that Colorado may be the 2nd or 3rd largest micro brewing state in the nation, somewhere in the mix with California and Oregon, so beer drinkers are going to have lots of options. One recommendation, particularly for craft beers, most places will let you sample a bit before committing to a full pint, so if you see something that sounds tasty (like a green chile beer!) you can taste first. (and I recommend at least one green chile taste for sure, it's Coloradoan. but only one. its not a session beer. :) Look forward to meeting you all!
Tue, 06 Apr 2010 17:59:49 +0000 mtucker comment 2823 at http://www.museumsandtheweb.com BYOB? http://www.museumsandtheweb.com/forum/beer_hunt_2010#comment-2843
This should be fun. I am also going to try and bring some of my brews with to test out on you folks. I've got a Porter, IPA, and a Brown Ale that are all ready to go. Not sure if I can get them all in my luggage, but I'll try. Cheers..... 1 week countdown begins.
Tue, 06 Apr 2010 14:10:51 +0000 mfrohlich comment 2843 at http://www.museumsandtheweb.com I'm in. http://www.museumsandtheweb.com/forum/beer_hunt_2010#comment-2829
Definitely interested in joining you all for some local beers.
