Mailchimp & Institutional spam filter advice

July 8, 2013 - 11:56am

Dear All,
Any general advice on how to get through institutional spam filters when using Mailchimp? I know Mailchimp has various tools for spam filters which I have used already, but are there any good guides to syntax or avoiding certain phrases or words?

For those that are rightly worried I can confirm this request is not to enable me to start a spamming career, it's just I am having a little trouble with an e-newsletter for a professional association. [...]

Scanning and OCR on text source to generate structured XML

July 5, 2013 - 2:08pm

Hi everyone,

I'm interested in learning from anyone's experience of undertaking a scanning project on well formatted text (in which they hold copyright, or where material is public domain), with definition of zones on the page, and the generation of structured data (eg XML) based on the zone-defined OCR.

In other words, has anyone worked with a third party supplier of OCR application, or developed an application in house, to do achieve something like this:
1. my source (eg a reference book) has predictable formatting and layout for identifiable properties (eg title, date, summary, image) so [...]

Re: DAM system expert needed for software product evaluation - recommendations required

July 4, 2013 - 8:39am

Hi Jane,

The ResearchSpace project did an evaluation and comparison of CMS and DAM
systems at the beginning of 2011. It might not quite what you are looking
for but might be helpful as background material. They might also be able to
give some advice.

The document is here;

Re: Art of Digital

July 3, 2013 - 1:18pm

Hi everyone,

I attend the AODL events, and a lot of the speakers have been really
interesting. The events are frequently 'sold out' (there isn't a charge,
but spaces are limited), so I'd recommend following @aodl on Twitter and
registering with the Meetup group in advance. I believe there won't be any
more meetups until after summer. [...]
