Leonard Steinbach serves as Technology Strategy Advisor for Red{an orchestra} while also Technology Strategist for The Walters Art Museum in Baltimore and a technology consultant for a variety of cultural institutions around the country. Until recently, he was Chief Information Officer for The Cleveland Museum of Art where he was responsible for “technology vision and leadership.” Before that he was Chief Technology Officer for the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York. His technology projects and innovations have garnered two American Associaton of Museum Muse Awards among other national and international recognition. He frequently speaks at museum and other conferences, serves on federal grant review panels and has published several papers and articles. His essay, “Analyzing Return on Investment….Process of Champions” will be published by the American Association of “Museums in Museums in a Digital Age” in the fall of 2006. Steinbach has been President of the Museum Computer Network and served on advisory boards for the New Media Consortium’s Horizon Report on Technology and Higher Education, Internet2’s K20 Initiative, various arts organizations and others. He has also taught in the digital media program of the Cleveland Institute of Art.
