Dr Kocheva is a senior researcher at the Department of Physics, Buryat Scientific Centre, Russian Academy of Sciences, Siberian Branch. She graduated from Tomsk Polytechnic University with a degree in engineering. Tatiana’s dissertation "Problems and methods of the automated designing of ornaments in traditional Mongol-Buryat style" was defended at St.-Peterburg State Polytechnic University in 1997. Being an expert in the field of design automation, she is engaged in the development of algorithms for creating ornaments. She was the head of the Grant of the Russian Foundation of Basic Research (no. 01-07-90370 ) "The Database of Ornaments of Central Asia". She managed a team of five researchers in 2001-2002. As a result, they developed "Ornaments of Central Asia" database registered in the State Register of Databases (no. 0220208860). Tatiana has authored and co-authored a monograph and more than 50 publications in scientific journals. Her research interests are ornament patterns, computer graphic design, graphic databases, electronic collections.
