Cynthia Graville-Smith is the Educational Technology Manager for the School and Community Partnerships department at the Saint Louis Science Center. Focusing on digital media and its impact on engaging underrepresented audiences in museum learning, Cynthia integrates a majority of her work in the Saint Louis Science Center’s work-based outreach program, Youth Exploring Science (YES). Through her work she uses technology as a means of exposing YES teens and other at-risk youth to a variety of academic and career pathways. Her passion for creating on-line communities of science, technology, engineering and mathematics learners has led to multiple program initiatives, including the YES program’s participatory website, www.youthexploringscience.com.
