Bill Kirby, Founder and Director, Centre for Contemporary Canadian Art [CCCA], established the CCCA, in 1995, and The Canadian Art Database Project in 1996. In January 2008 he joined the Fine Arts Faculty of York University, Toronto, as a Visiting Professor, to develop a Visual Resource Centre and to work with faculty and students in developing new content and applications for the Canadian Art Database. He is a former Director of the Canada Council Art Bank, Director of the Edmonton Art Gallery, Curator of Contemporary Art at the Winnipeg Art Gallery, and Professor of Contemporary Canadian Art at the School of Art, University of Manitoba.
